Since its launch in 2012, Seagriculture has developed into a key meeting point for stakeholders across the seaweed value chain, including producers, technology providers, researchers, investors, and policymakers. The event reflects the growing strategic importance of seaweed within the broader blue economy, particularly in the context of sustainable food systems, circular bio-based industries, and climate-related solutions.
The 2026 edition will focus on developments in seaweed cultivation and processing, as well as applications in areas such as food, feed, biomaterials, and bio-based products. Discussions will also address challenges related to scaling production, market uptake, regulatory frameworks, and investment needs, which remain critical for the sector’s growth in Europe.
In addition to the conference programme, which includes keynote presentations, panel discussions, and thematic sessions, the event will feature a trade exhibition and dedicated networking opportunities aimed at fostering collaboration across sectors. A site visit to Nordic SeaFarm will provide participants with practical insights into seaweed cultivation and processing in a commercial setting.
The previous edition, held in Rotterdam in 2025, brought together more than 200 participants from 26 countries, highlighting the increasing international engagement and relevance of the event.
